It's different. The Bose plays movies and music very good.

And the Samsung Q990D/F plays movies very VERY good but music not so good.

The Samsung has more rumble in the base but the base from Bose is much more clean and precise.

While both brands use Wi-Fi, they prioritize different strengths. Samsung focuses on a "complete theater in a box" with included rears, while Bose focuses on modularity and music-first tuning.

I'd warn everyone. This will sound good, but the software/firmware is garbage. I owned this and had to get rid of it because it would constantly get unpaired from the TV or otherwise disconnect. I had to reboot it manually at least once a week. The Sonos I replaced it with just works.

Get a pair of era 300's set them as rears and put the ones as fronts with the soundbar. I think in your case no reason to get out of the Sonos ecosystem...but I have no experience with this Bose system.

Can we do Karaoke with this sound system?
Technically you could, but as a Viet, I would not be satisfied. Karaoke speakers exist for a reason, they highlight the range of vocals. These home theater speakers emphasize dramatic bass and highs, as found in movies and music.

Same question. Currently rocking an Arc Soundbar, two One surrounds and a Sub and thinking about upgrading.

Is this system impacted by the SoundTouch system being end of life?

Also how does sound quality compare to Nakamichi ?

Soundtouch is a separate line than this one. The whole soundtouch debacle soured my Bose relationship forever. I invested a lot in the system and Bose just abandoned the hardware and left the customer high and dry. Bose does great hardware, but these days software if just as important if not more. Bose does not support their products long term.

Sorry for my novice question, but aside from the soundbar wires, is the bass and speakers completely wireless?
Yes completely wireless other than the power wire

Same concept and similar sound quality as Sonos.

And just like Sonos, this can be upgraded. The good news about Bose is they are always doing more R&D.

I would consider this a Sonos equivalent.

So stuff like this has been fixed with firmware updates. I guess you were one of the first groups that purchased this. How long did you own this... over a year ago?

It can.

All amps are built into each speaker.. so all you need to do is plug it into a wall socket (sound bar will have all hard wire inputs). And then you can set up WiFi speakers (takes about 5 minutes... very similar to bluetooth setup) OR hardwire it to your TV, which most people will probably end up doing.

And you can add speakers to this system in the future if you like.

And these speakers are more tuned for music then surround sound while watching a movie. It can do it but not as good as Samsung 990 for watching movies.

I have the upgraded system with the Bose Ultra and the 700 module. I connect everything wirelessly using AirPlay and primarily use my Apple TV, which is set up to send all audio from my Samsung TV to the system. It works seamlessly. I've had it for 1 year and 4 months with no issues.

The only cables i have are my "power cables" other than that, everything is perfect.

On the other hand, my brother has the Sonos Arc system. While the Bose audio is great and I haven't had any issues, I still don't understand why he seems to get more out of it, but I think it's because the Era300s are much better than the Surround 700s. So, for an apartment or living room, either system will be fine, but if you want more powerful surround sound (specifically from the rear speakers), the Sonos is a better choice.

Another option I used before upgrading to the surround system was adding two HomePods. Since I use Apple TV, I configured it to send the audio signal to both the Bose system and the HomePods (acting as surrounds), and it works perfectly with no noticeable delay, if you have Apple TV connected to ethernet.

Is it the Bose soundbar 900 coupled with surround 700 and bass 700 system?
