The Segway Cube 1000 is a 1,024Wh LiFePO4 power station with a 2,200W output and about 35 pounds of weight. It compares closely with the OUPES Mega 1 on capacity, while the Segway is a bit heavier and the OUPES adds lighter weight and higher solar input flexibility. Project Farm testing put the Segway through well across a broad range of checks, and it also handled computer backup use as a competent UPS. The main cautions are cold weather shutdowns below freezing, connector differences that may require adapters, and reports that the sale price only appears at checkout or may already be dead.

  • The unit is specified as LiFePO4 with a 1024Wh capacity and 2200W output.

  • The Segway can function as a competent UPS for computers during outages.

  • A comparison review found the Segway performed well across a broad range of tests.

  • The deal price can show at checkout and a code may help if the discount does not apply automatically.

  • The brand may be confusing because Segway is Chinese-owned and some claims suggest these units are not truly Segway-branded.

  • The sale deal appears unstable, with some shoppers reporting the price changed to $999 or looked higher than expected.

  • The unit may show error codes and refuse to run until the battery warms above freezing in cold weather.

  • Connector differences may require adapter cables because Segway uses Anderson connectors while many stations use XT60i and solar uses MC4.

I have this Segway unit. The Oupes Mega 1 is on sale right now for $299 and it's better in every way.
  • It's lighter.
  • Better solar inputs. up to 75v vs 60v. This is important because you can series 3 panels(most smaller panels are around 22v voc).
  • The best thing about the Mega 1 is the easy DIY expansion battery. Any 48v battery can be a expansion battery. Use ordinary MC4 pins to create cables to the 48v battery.
Oupes is in the power station business.Segway is not. They haven't come up with anything new for 2 yrs. I think they are just clearing these out.
Hey I see the deal on the opeus website (for anyone wondering) but curious if you can share more info about diy expansion for that unit?

Not every way, the OUPES has the most inefficient AC inverter draining 45% of it's capacity (~450watts) on standby in just 15 hrs, by far the worst of the group, that is Mega level inefficient.

What warranty would you put your money on when one fails 4 years down the line?
I have a feeling Segway is not going to be in the power station business in the near future.
They haven't come up with anything new in 2 yrs.
