I'd use something like this as an emulation and home theater PC, so unfortunately Mac can take a hike (recent improvements though Apple still locks stuff down)

I think the use case is "I have the disposable income and want something chibi." Stronger than a raspi and generally less Carnival Cruise-looking than a laptop. TBH not too far removed from the elusive Steam Machine considering that's also non-upgradable.

Otherwise tho I agree - makes very little sense. If it had USB 4 you could at least make a theoretical case for adding an external GPU at some point.

Sure and this is obviously cheaper so there's that.

The Radeon 680M is a fantastic iGPU. It'll run many games with ease. That said, games like Helldivers 2 will be stressed, but it'll serve you well.

Honestly I have no clue what I would use this for. Radeon 680M PassMark score is 3864, and graphics aren't upgradeable. Other specs are solid: processor, RAM, SSD. But why would I buy this over a $380 laptop (for portability) or desktop (for upgradability)?

Doesn't make sense as a home theater PC. Way over-built for that. Get an older desktop or laptop for $100.

I just don't get the use case.

For an independent machine running a local AI agent (Eg, OpenClaw) you don't want on your primary hardware, this could be useful and have more headroom than a raspberry pi. Please understand that it would not be fully local and still need to reach out to higher level AI thinking via Anthropic API or your ChatGPT plus account oAuth for the AI thinking. But the agents's soul and identity and other metrics would reside in the miniPC.

LOL fair play, man - that is indeed a use case...a very SPECIFIC one, ofc, but certainly not beyond the pale. The agent's soul could do far worse XD

So like they said, someone with disposable income, since you can just install a hyper-v vm and free Ubuntu to have a Openclaw on your primary machine but still completely segregated from your local files etc.

You don't think openclaw can escape?
