The HD 560S is an open back wired headphone tuned for accurate, flat sound, with strong detail for home recording, mixing, and competitive gaming. The easy to drive design makes it practical without an amp, and the directional cues are praised for footsteps, reloading, and elevation in games like CS and Valorant. It also works well for home and office listening, and can replace pricier gaming headsets. The main hesitation is price, since the street value has been lower and some compare it against cheaper HD 599 or higher tier HD 600 and HD 490 options. A solid pick if accuracy matters more than bass heavy sound.
These wired open-back headphones can deliver very accurate pinpointing of footsteps and reload direction for competitive FPS play.
They can be a strong fit for home recording and mixing because they provide a high-quality flat response.
They can be easy to drive for home and office use and may replace higher-priced gaming headsets.
They can support directional audio improvements when paired with a mod-mic or a compatible Sennheiser mic accessory.
At around $100-$120 for BNIB, the sound and build quality can feel closer to a lower tier than the price suggests.
They may not be a good match if you want a cheaper HD600-style option that does not require an amp.
They can be less appealing for listeners who prefer the HD600 mids, since related Sennheiser models are described as not matching HD600 mids.
Open-box pricing can vary widely, so a low-cost deal may not be available when you shop.

If you're not trying to be an audiophile, quality of the mids won't matter.
