I use the Costco app to check the warehouse price. Don't check from the main page of the app. Tap on the warehouse icon on the bottom. Make sure it is set to your warehouse and then use the "search warehouse inventory" box.
Definitely download the soundcore app, so that you can set a custom EQ to your liking. IMO, the default EQ isn't that great.
Once you install the soundcore app, you can load custom EQs from other people. This reddit has a whole bunch and worth adding, you can switch on the fly in the app and see if any of them suit your preference.
While the Boom v2 is the same as the Boom 2 hardware wise, the app considers them as different models, so the Costco Boom v2 will only accept v2 custom EQs. If you try to add a regular Boom 2 custom EQ, you won't be able to.

Is this notably better than some no name Amazon brand ?
It's soundcore so their build quality is pretty decent. Sound wise it's not as good as some like bose or Sony, but for $40-$50 it's punching way above the price point.
We have one of these. Our young kids really like it. It sounds good, connects easily to the phone, and has some fun lighting options. Would definitely recommend at this price.
$59 in NJ and it sounds great for that price. $40 is a no brainer pickup.
Agreed. Already bought at $75. Went to get the price match for $60 and found out it was actually $40 at my store. Ended up getting another one at that price.
