Gen 1 vs. Gen 2 Differences:

Audio: The Gen 2 supports Dolby Atmos and has a more powerful processor; the Gen 1 does not.
Connection: Gen 1 uses HDMI ARC, while Gen 2 supports HDMI eARC for higher-resolution audio.

most people report no, not really. just as a lot of people report the original arc isnt much better then the beam -- if at all, and the arc ultra is hardly better than the arc.

I got mine for $150 with a Paypal promotion, no mistake. They are $191 or even less refurbished on sale and then I used the 20% promotion. $191 is a more reasonable price. But that said Sonos soundbars are rather disappointing on their own and I found no value at all in them by themselves. So many better products for far less money if we are not talking Sonos network features.
