I bought this restored unit last summer for $222. It was dead on arrival, the wasn't motor working. I was able to get it replaced and it's still working fine now. Good deal, but make sure to check it out immediately and not hang on until after the 90 days warranty.

This is an inverter AC unit, it is the most efficient type of portable AC unit. Here is a link to the Energy Guide. Note that it's off the end of the efficiency chart. Some window units may be better, but I can't use them. I can't speak to reliability.

This looks similar to the version I bought at Costco a couple years back, except mine also does heat (although only when it's above 40F, which is kind of janky).
Mine works fine, but the condensate drain hose could never seal right, so it would periodically leak water everywhere. But if this version doesn't have heat, it might not have the drain hose.

Got mine, arrived with top of the box opened, styrofoam damaged. Pretty obvious from the marks left on the ac case plastic seams that it was pryed open during refurb. Ac plug was dirty. Vertical hose adapter was missing, so i can't install the hose properly on a horizontal sliding window. It seems to cool ok.

Purchased and took a chance. Arrived. All installation accessories missing. Midea won't assist as it is refurb... Walmart only option is to repackage and lug it to a store. Replacement parts not available to purchase.

Seems like it backs up, this time with a lower price $222.22.

Pulled the trigger, going to run the hell out of it for the next 80 days in case I need to return it. Walmart right down the street so really easy for me to return, little risk.

same here, top partially open and missing the sliding window adapter parts, the remote and normal window parts were included. last years refurb included everything.

did anybody order recently and receive all the sliding window parts? was the top of the box partially open when you received it? im wondering if mine fell out during shipping since theyre located at the top of the package.

Mine (the 3rd one. the first 2 were both damaged by FedEx during transit and FedEx directly returned them back to the shipper) arrived with all the shipping tapes at the bottom broken. However, the plastic bag that contains the window installation parts is taped to the top piece of the foam protection on the side.

I am getting one from eBay (from Midea America Corp. it comes with 2-year Allstate warranty). I will return the one from Wal-Mart that only has 90 days warranty. It's big and heavy to bring it back to a Wal-Mart story. But 2-year warranty will be worth it.

The trade off is the eBay price doesn't include free returns, though people report a Walmart return while "free" is no picnic. "Returns: 30 days returns. Buyer pays for return shipping. If you use an eBay shipping label, it will be deducted from your refund amount."

I don't intend to return. If defective, I will ask for a replacement. I made an offer (first try) of $212.50 and it accepted automatically. I should have offer $200 with my first offer. My main concern is shipping damage. It has been damaged twice by FedEx. This time it was shipped by UPS. It arrived okay. But looks like UPS has to tape up the bottom of the package. I wish Midea can package the unit better in the future. The unit is heavy and it doesn't really have a sealed bottom.

Update: took it back to Walmart store (with help from another person). Customer service associate scanned item UPC, then serial number barcode. The refund process started. Refund showing on my card. Only taking the heavy item back to a Walmart store is the bad part of returning it to Walmart. The rest is pretty easy. I did repack everything back to the best I can with all the original packaging materials. The customer service associate asked me if I tried to have them come pick it up at my home and I told her that option is not available for this item probably due to the size/weight.
