Apple AirPods Max USB C is being treated as a first generation clearance deal, with the newer model already announced but not due until late April. The appeal is the familiar AirPods Max sound and build at a lower price, while the new features on the next version are described as too small to justify waiting or paying more. The main drawback is the lack of a year Apple warranty. Price matching at Best Buy has also worked by using Costco links and a zip code with local warehouse availability, which can bring the cost down further.
Common Questions (4)
Best Buy can price match it when you reference the Costco AirPods Max USB-C deal. If the item shows out of stock, using a zip code with local warehouse availability can help the match go through.
It is the USB-C version of the 1st gen AirPods Max, not the 2nd gen model. The 2nd gen was announced recently, so this listing is a stock-clearance sale of the older generation.
The new model is only announced and is expected to release in late April, about a month away. The new features are described as weak, so the price difference may not justify waiting if you want the headphones now.
It does not include a year of Apple warranty. That matters if you want the standard Apple coverage instead of relying on the seller's return policy or any separate protection plan.

Edit: Just tried again today (4/1/26) and was able to get it priced matched at Best Buy. I had to give them a zip code with warehouse availability for the item. They said it was out of stock at first then I gave them a zip code about 50 miles away that said there was local availability. Got it for $250 after rewards. Thanks
