Apple AirPods Max USB C is being treated as a first generation clearance deal, with the newer model already announced but not due until late April. The appeal is the familiar AirPods Max sound and build at a lower price, while the new features on the next version are described as too small to justify waiting or paying more. The main drawback is the lack of a year Apple warranty. Price matching at Best Buy has also worked by using Costco links and a zip code with local warehouse availability, which can bring the cost down further.
The USB-C version is available as a first-generation stock-clearing option.
Price matching at Best Buy can work when the Costco AirPods Max USB-C deal is referenced.
Using a zip code with local warehouse availability can enable a price match even when the item initially shows out of stock.
A price-match request can be accepted when a qualifying zip code is used along with the sameday.costco.com link.
The deal may not include a full year Apple warranty.
The newer model's announced features may feel weak compared with the wait and price difference.
The newer model is expected to release in late April, which can make the timing less appealing for wait-focused buyers.
The extra cost versus AirPods Max 2 may not feel worth it when AirPods Max 2 is discounted through military or veteran pricing.

Edit: Just tried again today (4/1/26) and was able to get it priced matched at Best Buy. I had to give them a zip code with warehouse availability for the item. They said it was out of stock at first then I gave them a zip code about 50 miles away that said there was local availability. Got it for $250 after rewards. Thanks
