been useable for us. i mean the dimensions are accurate. can hold a gallon of milk and other stuff. can hold tupperware. doesn't hold the bigger restaurant togo boxes upright, so that kind've sucks.
we havent noticed it heating up the car at all. we pair it with a portable power station thing (ecoflow river 2 pro) so it continues to run if we park the car and go do stuff with the car off.

ive had one of these that we keep in the trunk of my wifes car for a couple years now and still works great. we dont leave it running all the time, only turn it on when we need it. but has been super convenient over the past couple years for road trips, grocery trips, and leftovers. especially when we have other errands to run or events to attend afterwards

How useable is the space? And does it appreciably heat up the interior of the car?

We've had this exact unit running non stop in our garage without issue. Granted, we keep it at 42 degrees F for drinks. But our garage gets hot in the summer. And no, this unit doesn't seem to generate much heat when running. We love it. The slightly pricier version has a light inside that could be useful when camping and such.

Why do these always have split compartments? Seems challenging to fit bulky or oddly shaped items. Still, seems like a decent deal

Do you live in hot climates that's could create problems if left in a very hot car?

If this size or configuration doesn't work for you, just wait. With summer on its way, all sorts of sizes will go on sale soon. Just search for all the FP deals in the past.

I have the larger size that is split. The larger area can freeze. The smaller volume is considered a refrigerated space and doesn't have direct cooling.

Got one of these to keep my superhot peppers frozen for a cross-country move. It was fantastic and kept my valuable peppers safe and frozen for over 4 days and 2.5k miles. It went in and out of my car and hotel rooms. It can plg into both. This is a good deal and this brand is one of the better ones at these price points, especially with the deal.
