This looks really cool, at an excellent affordable price. NOT battery powered, it's powered by a standard 5V USB C cable. However NOTE that Wyze charges a fee to get people and vehicle alerts on your phone. Eufy DOES NOT!! My Eufycam S4 solar camera can also be powered by USB-C, but I don't need to because it has a solar panel that keeps the internal battery charged. It has never run out of power, even at night. It also cost a lot more money, but I'll make up for that in subscription costs over time. Therefore, I shall stick to my Eufy cameras.

I've been wanting to get an outdoor pan camera like this with 4K, (I have several Wyze cameras that work great!), but after reading the reviews, I'll pass on this one.

I have a handful of Wyze Cameras...OG, v2, v3. I've had 2 power supplies burn up on me. Sometimes the camera night mode lens or whatever gets stuck and everything looks purple. They are fairly stable and I like the affordability but they certainly aren't the most reliable devices. I want to love them but at best I just really like them.

Did they fix the issue where the cameras corrupt the SD cards every few months?

All I know is all of my wyze cameras have SD cards and none of them record to the cards anymore. Could be the cards, could be the camera. Trying to switch over to tapo.

I have Wyze cams. They can be wanky. Often not recording anything for hours at a time when there is plenty to record. And their app can be really slow to load when you want to see what is going on outside for live view. You hear something outside, want to view it via the camera, and its so slow loading, that you don't get to see who or what it was.

I had issues with their first gen camera years ago. Which competitor(s) would you recommend?

Pretty sure that was a firmware update. Mine all did it at the same time.

They did just come out with a firmware update for some cameras to help them load faster. But yeah, I've noticed that they have to otherwise have a very strong connection to the router. For a while I thought the app or my camera was just glitchy when trying to load. But when I upgraded my router and added a mesh point slightly closer to the camera, it was a night and day difference - loads right away 95% of the time now. The only time I still see it struggle a little bit is when there is a lot of motion/movement, while recording to the SD card, while also uploading the event to the cloud, while I'm also trying to watch the camera live.
