The Costco monitor is $25 more and is more of a "brand name" for whatever that's worth.

Costco monitor comes with a protective case and has a full-size HDMI port. Those may or may not be important.

Agreed, but I doubt you'll find a portable taller monitor at this price point. Even the desktop monitors are priced significantly higher than 16:9 monitors.

For desktop monitors, 1920x1200 is ideal
