I live walking distance from this hotel.

Rooms are small and it can get loud if your room is facing south side . They have 1 night club, 1 bar and swimming pool area.

Location wise Korean town is good location to see Los Angeles, but price seems a bit excessive

That's what I thought, but for 2 nights, it's really not too bad for LA.
The Courtyard Marriott / Hilton by LAX will run you $150-200 a night.
True about the loud rooms though, I've stayed there once, and the noise from the bar went on until like 2-3am on a Saturday night.
Also, you'll most likely have to pay for parking on top of this, but that's like every hotel in LA unless you go far outside the city.

Used to work across the street from this hotel for 2 years.

This is not a destination location lol, but if this is what you consider cheap go for it

Yeah if you want quieter rooms.. request the room that face north side.

This hotel has more of... night club W hotel vibe...

Not Westin Vibe.

No resort fee, but instead a "destination fee".

I've stayed here before and found it to be very loud. That said, there are some great food options nearby. About half a mile west of the hotel is a restaurant called Umaya Kaiseki & Sushi. It was honestly some of the best sushi I've ever had.

I've stayed here. Hotel is fine. I didn't realize it's a luxury hotel. It's an old apt building renovated. You're not quite downtown LA but close. Nothing really in the vicinity.

As others have said, the Hotel is fine - especially if you plan to stick to central/downtown LA. However, this is great deal if you have AMEX and plan on using all the credits. It is really hard to find a good hotel for $175 a night in this area. Even cheaper than the Biltmore, which has pretty small old rooms.

The hotel is within walking distance of a bunch of great restaurants. Subway station is across the street, so DTLA is accessible via the Metro (and then from there, Pasadena, Hollywood, Culver City, Santa Monica, Long Beach, etc). They are opening additional stops on the Purple line (D Line?) going west in the next few months, so pretty soon you can go as a far as Fairfax and Century City (and Westwood next year).

This hotel is at a convenient location. Across the street is the Wilshire/Normandie Metro Subway Station that can take you to other parts of LA County (i.e., Universal Studios/Citywalk). Just one block west is a very good and popular Korean restaurant, BCD Tofu House, that gets packed nearly every night. Two blocks east and half block north is the H-Mart City Center (H-Mart is an Asian supermarket chain) if you want to do some grocery shopping (also has a small food court). Around the area are some nightclubs, karaoke bars, massage parlors (not the happy-ending kind) and more restaurants and bars. Is it safe to walk around? Pretty much as Wilshire Blvd is a busy street. But like in any major city, use common sense.
