The EC-256 is a great guitar for the price. You can find them used for sub 300 but even at this price for a new starter guitar it blows away a ton of the competition in the price range.

My only real complaints about them is the neck width being on the small side and the pickups are lacking. Anyone with larger hands/fingers may have a bit of trouble playing it.

Exactly...the 1000s take a big hit on the used market as well...bought and sold a few ec1000s over the years for around the $500 market. Best deal on the used market imo
