Older API SP spec. Castrol is the most erratic in implementing API SQ. If you have a turbo or a car with a timing chain, you want API SQ.

TBD on if it'll help with head gaskets, but I'm early filling it on my Pentastars just as a maybe.

With my half price GCs from Citi, this would have been an amazing deal if it was actually available anywhere. :x

Timing chains have been around a lot longer than SQ. Sorry, this is just pointless fearmongering.

SQ has been out a whole 1 year now. I would be more concerned about it being 5w-20 than SP or SQ.
Still have a stash of SL and SM oil I have to go through before I even begin to start using my SN/SN+ stash. Not sure if I have any SP oil in my 30 gallon stash.
Newest vehicle I have is a 2018, and it don't care. None of mine are turbo, and none are models with timing chain issues (well, my '02 F150 with a 5.4 2V has some know issues, but when I replaced the engine with one from a junkyard I had new chains and guides put in).

But does not matter, none around me in 5w-20 or 5w-30.

oil is good if you find it,lol, however I will stay away from Autozone as much as possible, try to return something with out receipt, even though you have online account they can't check it with out receipt, they are technologically behind, if you tell them everyone is doing it, they say but we are autozone, lol
