I use extenders similar to these around the house, and they're very useful. That said, 300 joules is not a meaningful protection in case of a surge. I would look for something that's at least 1500+ joules if you care about the devices you plug into these.

I just need an outlet extender with USB that actually charges. So many of these on Amazon are crap that don't work. Excited to get an Anker product for this price as I'm confident it will work.

I love Anker and this one has a beautiful form factor, but after testing multiple units, none of them can charge more than 1 device at once! Maybe user error, but I'm just letting the group know.

Nope. I've had 3 (original plus 2 replacements (1 refurb and 1 new)) all 3 didn't charge unless I unplugged the usb and changed ports to start again.

I have a couple of these. One annoying issue is that sometimes a port will stop working - I'm not sure if I've overloaded it - but you then need to unplug the whole thing to reset the port.
It's pretty annoying if you install it as designed, screwed into the wall.
