The DeWalt StealthSonic 12 gallon wet dry vac stands out for being unusually quiet while still feeling powerful, with several comparisons to loud Ridgid and Craftsman shop vacs. The 2.5 inch hose and contractor kit add appeal, and the premium hose is described as more rubberized and less likely to kink. The main tradeoff is size, since the 12 gallon body can feel large for smaller spaces, though the quieter exhaust and lack of blower function are part of what make it so calm to use. At $75, it reads as a strong value for a shop or garage setup.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It is repeatedly described as much quieter than typical shop vacs, with some users saying they can hold a normal conversation while it runs. The quieter design comes from muffled exhaust and no blower port, which also helps keep dust from being kicked up behind you.
Yes. Multiple buyers compare it favorably to prices of $120-$130 at Lowe's and call $75 a hard-to-pass-up or killer deal. One non-member still found it cheaper than Lowe's even after Costco's 5% surcharge.
The 12-gallon StealthSonic uses a 2 1/2-inch hose and adapter. That matters because the 9-gallon StealthSonic uses a narrower 1 7/8-inch hose, so accessories are not interchangeable between the two sizes.
Yes. It can be run through a dust separator for woodworking dust collection, and it also works well hooked up to a dust separator and table saw.
Yes, the DXV12P-QTA model includes a contractor kit. That model is the StealthSonic version being discussed in the deal.

Those of you who got the adapter off Etsy from SuctionEqualsSafety, how in the world do you attach it and where? I can't see where to screw it on. Thank you.
The 2 and 1/2 is the adapter size I bought.
