There is no guarantee that any tests for this product were actually done as, according to Wikipedia, that military standard doesn't actually require testing and/or the following of any particular method of testing.

U.S. MIL-STD-810 is a flexible standard that allows users to tailor test methods to fit the application. As a result, a vendor's claims of "...compliance to U.S. MIL-STD-810..." can be misleading, because no commercial organization or agency certifies compliance, commercial vendors can create the test methods or approaches to fit their product. Suppliers can – and some do – take significant latitude with how they test their products, and how they report the test results. Consumers who require rugged products should verify which test methods that compliance is claimed against and which parameter limits were selected for testing.

It's junk. Woot inventory is stuff that was unsold or frequently returned on Amazon. Best to avoid any deal posted on their site.

A military smartwatch is a hilarious thought. Imagine being out patrolling and having to charge your watch every 18 hours.

If you value your privacy and data, please don't buy health-related devices from random brands. Whatever you're paying for the device is not worth the vast amount of data they'll be able to collect about you and sell to data brokers.

Just running the companion app for this device thru Exodus Privacy reveals 16 different companies receiving data from this app:

I bought a fitbit last year, fell right outside my front door onto the driveway, and smashed the screen.
I assumed it was a sign excersice is too dangerous for me.

If you value your privacy and data, you probably shouldn't buy health-related devices that connect to the Internet (or sync with a device that connects to the Internet) at all. It's not like well-known brands aren't collecting and selling this data.

I think the Chinese military is more competent than ours right now, especially the leadership. If they're using smart watches, it's going to be way more advanced than anything our soldiers get.

Larger companies of course still collect the data, and most probably sell it too. But at least they can be held accountable to an extent, unlike a random brand with no history. Besides, you can totally buy health tracking devices that are totally private.

If you have an Android phone, Gadgetbridge allows you to connect thousands of different watches and health devices to your phone, and sync health data completely locally with no cloud connection. Just check if your device is compatible first, most Amazfit devices are and can be had for super cheap.
