Great deal for an underrated soundbar with excellent 3D audio processing with Sony's vertical height engine. IMO works better than most soundbars with up-firing speakers.

You can get the wireless rears for under $200 which i would recommend they sound fantastic (open box) https://www.bestbuy.com/product/s...J7XSRH4ZWX

And the subwoofer if needed is also under $200 right now (open box) https://www.bestbuy.com/product/s...J7XSRH4ZWS

How good is an Atmos sound bar without the rearward Atmos speakers? Is it actually good?

Yes Sony and Sennheiser both have excellent audio processing to simulate height and sound all around you. Samsung and others have features like that but it sounds terrible.
