And the screen was indeed super washed out by the default settings, another SD user suggested messing with settings (I think mostly saturation is what he suggested) which made a huge difference. Before it looked like a washed out LCD in the sun but now look similar to my prior OLED Lenovo.

-brightness enhancement for "all colors" set at 38
-contrast enhancement "all colors) 17
-Hue 0 (default)
-Saturation bumped up to 70 (I believe the other user who recommended similar settings to me had their Saturation set to 80 or more but that looked way too aggressive on my machine)

LOL..not actually but..long story but I technically purchased the Ultra 5 however received (and expected to receive) the 7 since Acer's listing (at the time) incorrectly listed this config as a Ultra 5 with 32GB however the U5 cannot have 32GB so had to be the U7 based on that and a few other telltells suggesting it wasn't the 5.
IMO you should wait for the U7 with 32GB to go back in stock (comes back often). I think the faster CPU and additional ram both are well worth the money and make a big (likely) difference in emulation.
P.S. The only thing that annoys me about this laptop is the lack of SD card reader.
