I have no idea if there is any connection but my Craftsman 60 volt battery died after 4 years with very limited use..probably 10x/year. No replacement available as they quit making it. Thanks Stanley Black and Decker

Is Craftsman owned or vice versa with DeWalt? I literally just bought a DeWalt leaf blower from Woot a couple weeks ago and it looks exactly like this design lol

Craftsman, DeWalt, and about 15 others are in the Stanley Black & Decker family. So you occasionally get stuff like the Craftsman Overdrive wrenches Torque Test Channel loved, because they're rebranded $350 MAC RBRTs for $75.

This page has a graphic of the big families (like Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and Homelite under TTI, etc):

They're both owned by SBD - Stanley Black & Decker.

So yes, when they launched this Craftsman line of V20 tools, most of the designs were taken from existing DeWalt tools, although the batteries are NOT interchangeable.

snagged it. It's pretty good for the price. I got one for my son a while back and he hasn't had any issues.

Don't remember if I got it from Lowe's or Amazon or Ace Hardware, but they were on sale at that time. You can also check the craftsman website and see where it is available near your place. Lowes mostly have with additional charger. The ones I got was 2 pack batteries excluding the charger as I already had charger when I got the tool.
