I've had this for 3 or 4 years and it's been through multiple demos and renovations. It is the fastest and most capable recip I've ever used. It is a heavy beast though, so I also make frequent use of the newer Makita one handed saw that's like 70% as capable at literally 40% of the weight.

Was on sale last year for $100 so maybe hold out.. its a very good saw but heavy as thelongtrek said.

I managed to grab this from Amazon for $92 last May, although I do see the invoice states "Sold by: Other"
Agreeing with the other posters, it's a big boy and possibly overkill for some DIY work. I've used it to prune fairly big tree branches and it does that without hassle

I use the Milwaukee 18V Hackzall for light tree trimming. Can use it with one hand, and the batteries fit my other tools
