I was looking for a soft sided suitcase, preferably Travelpro, that was the maximum allowed 62 linear inches. The large size Platinum Elite exceeds 62" and may be subject to oversize baggage fees, in addition to the likelihood of over packing it and exceeding 50 lbs. The VersaPack in the large size is exactly 62 linear inches. I just received it today and it is quite deep. Compared to the Platinum Elite, I think the handle is less padded (though it seems fine,) and the wheels are smaller (but seem to roll well.) It seems really nice. I weighed it at 10 lbs. 13.4 oz. With the included packing cubes it weighed 11 lbs. 4 oz. Adding the cubes and included laundry bag took it to 11 lbs. 6 oz.
