What did all of your texts looks like? Each time I text the codes I get a "Find your closest 7-Eleven here" link and no additional rewards appear in the app even after clicking those links.

Brent spot price hit $141 a barrel yesterday, the highest since 2008. They are saying $250-$300 is possible. Iran is going to implement a toll of $1 a barrel paid using Chinese currency or Iranian currency. It might not sound like much, but it's a slippery slope to OPEC not using U.S. dollars. Our allies just dumped 52 billion dollars worth of U.S. treasury, which doesn't help that we are officially insolvent for the first time in history as reported by the Fortune Magazine.

We produce only light crude (good for gasoline only) which we cannot refine and must export. We import heavy crude which can be refined to jet fuel, diesel, and asphalt. We can get what we need from Canada and Mexico. But half of the fertilizer we import goes through Hormuz. I don't know how much toll Iran will charge on that. We can't pretend that this isn't our problem just because we don't need the oil from the middle east. Yes, the grocery prices will go up fast.

Fill up the car as often as you can. They are going up every few days now. My car is still running with the gas I paid $3.47 for. I regretted not filling up at $3.99 and now it's $4.29. I'm going to run it to empty to get this deal, hopefully the discounts don't expire soon.

People ask me about these magnetic device you plug into the cigarette lighter to save fuel. Those are scams.

I'm pretty sure the highest octane of Sunoco is Top Tier. Their regular is junk. I believe the same goes for Shell and BP. If you have to buy from those due to royalty discount, you'll have to buy the highest octane which probably wipes out all the savings.The brands that I remember that are Top Tier for all three grades are Chevron, Citgo, Exxon Mobil, and Costco. There may be others.

If you google, there are many reports of 7-eleven gas station with water contaminant issues. There were quite a few report in Florida where people ended up spending a ton of money fixing the engine. I don't know if it was the issue with some stations or issue with the source. I hope it's the former. I got a brand new 7-eleven station that was only up for couple months. I will use this discount at that gas station when I'm empty.
