The Logitech Ergo M575S is a thumb trackball built for wrist relief, desk clutter, and everyday productivity. It is described as especially helpful for carpal tunnel, RSI, elbow pain, spreadsheets, Photoshop, and web browsing, and the Bluetooth connection frees up a USB port. The trackball footprint stays usable in tight spaces, but it is not suited to FPS gaming. Caveats include frequent cleaning under the ball, reports of wear on the finish and ball tracking over time, and a shorter warranty than the M575.

  • People who spend a lot of time in spreadsheets and want wrist/elbow pain relief because switching to this trackball made their wrist pain disappear and they use it daily for non-FPS work.

  • RSI or repetitive-stress injury sufferers who want to reduce strain because commenters say rotating/mixing pointers and using a trackball helped save their wrist and reduce repetitive stress injury.

  • Workers using productivity and publishing software (like Photoshop) because commenters report using it for spreadsheets plus Photoshop and other publishing programs at work.

  • Long-time trackball users who are okay treating it as a replaceable device because one commenter has used it for many years and calls it a good choice, even though they've ended up buying new ones every few years.

  • Office users with a cluttered desk who still need a pointing device because the trackball only takes up its own footprint and stays fully functional even with stuff piled right next to it.

  • People who want to avoid a USB dongle and free up ports because the Bluetooth feature lets them ditch the dongle and use less USB.

  • People who want a "hot deal" price because a commenter says it's a regular sale price and "not really a hot deal at all," and another notes it was $29 last time with a coupon.

  • Buyers who expect long-lasting button hardware because one commenter says the buttons use low-quality microswitches that fail quickly and that further repairs are difficult, so they consider it a consumable.

  • Buyers who need a trackball that stays looking/working like new for years because one user reports prior M575 units didn't last (finish wear and the ball starts jumping), and they switched to a cheaper alternative that's still like new after a year.

  • People who are sensitive to warranty length because a commenter claims the M575S has a shorter warranty than the M575 (S less than 2 years vs 2 years), which is the main difference they noticed.

  • Gamers who want to play FPS titles because one RSI sufferer says they can't do FPS games with these trackballs.

Bought a bunch of Logitech Ergo M575 a few years ago and they all did not last very long. Finish doesn't last and the ball starts jumping after a while like something is wearing down. So I bought Nulea M501 Wireless Trackball Mouse for a lot less money ($28 on sale) a year ago and it is still like new. And it has more features and options than Logitech. This is the case then third party is better than OEM.

These Logitech thumb-marbles have been my daily driver since the Trackman Plus days. I still end up buying a new one every few years. The build quality leaves much to be desired. Logi has used the absolute most ass quality chinese microswitches for the buttons that go bad very quickly for a long, long time. This can be alleviated by replacing them with Japanese switches for just a few dollars when the first ones begin to fail. The Japanese switches last beyond the remaining life of the plastic mouse button itself, which will start to wear down the contact point molded into the underside of the button. I've attempted further repairs at this point by grinding the contact flat and gluing a little square of metal under there, but they're never quite right again. So I consider these a consumable product at this point. Like everything else, the Dodge Brothers demand enshittification of all in sacrifice for perpetual profits for the (((investors))).
where can i get the replacement switches

fun fact! M575 vs M575S - the S stands for ..... shoddy Smilie
M575 offers 2 yr warranty, S version less than 2 years. That's the main difference.

Some other minor differences , but i have too many "backup" mice due to $D lol , not worth the effort (more than 5 mins) to search for the minute differences.

Omron D2F-F are the trusted standard for years. Specifically Japanese manufacture. The Chinese versions are shit. You'll also find people praising Huano Blue Shell. They come in different colored "dots" with different actuation like your colored keyboard switches for folks that are srs about their mice. (Though they're usually sticking them in actual gaymer meeces and not an office trackball you steer with your thumb.)
You can get any of them for like 50 cents each on AliExpress or up to $6 for a pair already imported and marked way up for resale on Amazon.

You just need to pop out the trackball and clean out the buildup. Been using the same ones for almost 10 years now.

If you have issues with carpal tunnel, you gotta try out these trackball mice.

According to Logitech's site, the M575S does have a 2 year warranty. I believe the main difference between the two is the S version has the new, more secure Bolt receiver. The old version used the now-discontinued Unifying receiver.

As someone else mentioned, you need to remove the ball and clean the crud that builds up around the tiny bearings.

I was just about to ask what the S was for. I've also used these mice for years, maybe a decade.

Also silent, as in there is no click (or feel) from the buttons. Used the old ones for years and bought the "S" a year ago because it was cheaper. It is indeed cheaper. Also it hates reconnecting to computers when using bluetooth. Like people said, I love 'em for "curing" the bolts of pain I was getting 20 years ago but I'll never buy the S model again.

Great mouse primarily for people who are at a computer all day. Saved me from shoulder pain. You move the ball with your thumb and that moves the cursor; the mouse body stays stationary at all times. It's not a mouse you move with your arm, just FYI. I recommend you get a wrist rest to stay comfy all day.

These (and the previous versions) are all I use for the last 20+ years. This is pretty much the regular price though. Not much of a deal.
