8K is cool but seems too early. Is there currently any readily accessible 8k content?
The thing that nobody talks about is essentially all content gets upscaled. In my application, my 8k is in a room where I do a lot of standing two feet from it. This is a noticeable difference over 4k.
Bought one from bestbuy a while back, delivery scheduled for a date. Called to confirm the day before the delivery would be that day, arranged covered from work to be home, didn't show. A few days later, they did it again. If you've got someone at home or can drive to get it, go for it, but the Best Buy delivery app and fulfillment is unreliable.
Guys dont believe anything these commentators are saying. Design flaw in this tv and IT WILL BREAK. no noticeable difference over a 4k tv. Theres a reason Samsung will stop making 8k tvs soon

Bunch of stuff. I repair tvs. Breaks constantly, panels, power supply, the board. Some unexplained.
I assume you work for an authorized Samsung repair facility as most of these 8k D models have to be under warranty?Or were you speaking of older models that were out of warranty?
Ordered one to be delivered next week. Going to use it as a frame TV to display full 8K images from my Sony A7r 36-60MP cameras. Will return it if it doesn't work as planned.

I highly doubt 8k content will ever be widespread. To tell the difference between 8k and 4k you have to be sitting closer than an ideal cinematic field of view regardless of TV size.
