This is a budget home theater projector that stands out more for convenience features than raw image quality. Auto keystone, remote focus adjustment, built in apps, phone casting, and streaming support are the main draws, and native 1080p at this price is considered plausible. Brightness claims are questioned, though, and cheap projector optics and light output still matter more than marketing. The native software is described as weak, so an external streaming stick makes it work much better. A decent low cost pick if expectations stay grounded.

Common Questions (5)

  • It includes auto keystone and remote focus adjustment, plus built-in streaming options, speaker wattage, and lumens are the main spec differences at this price. Other common extras on similar models can include auto focus, phone screen casting, built-in apps, and better speakers.

  • Yes, native 1080p at this price is plausible, and similar budget projectors can be found even cheaper. The bigger variables are the optics and light source, while some listings that claim 1080p may actually be 720p native.

  • Daytime viewing depends mainly on brightness, and a projector generally needs to be a light cannon, around 3500+ lumens, to handle it well. Budget models like this are more suited to darker rooms or home-theater use.

  • Yes. The native software can be weak, but adding a Roku stick makes it work much better, and Bluetooth audio can work well when paired through Roku.

  • No. The deal is reported dead, and the price has risen to $153.89.

How is this any different than any of the other cheap (and frankly garbage) projectors already in this price range.

As someone who buys projectors ranging from $400-$20K, I can tell you with almost certainty that just about nothing. There are actually a few options with native 1080P that can be still found for even cheaper than this. The main things that might differ ever so slightly besides form factor is streaming options built in, speaker wattage, and lumens. Just about everything else including contrast will be a laughable difference since contrast is a very subjective stat for projector companies as there is no standard.

Yes, the technology is now almost ancient so extremely cheap to manufacture. What will make the 1080p look better or worse, is the optic (plastic or glass) and the power of the light source, but yes native 1080 resolution can be had for $80 and even cheaper (I believe last one I saw was around $35). Still have to watch out for those that say they are 1080 but actually list 720 as their native.

Garbage is harsh. It's definitely a home theater projector, but these have their uses....

I mean, it costs $80 for 3 people to go to the movies ONCE. Pays for itself in a few viewings.

I got a $27 cheepo projector last year, my 4 kids LOVE IT.

not everyone wants a Ferrari, sometimes a Kia Soul will do just fine

It's nice that this has auto keystone and remote focus adjustment. Haven't seen them in other cheap projectors.

This reminds me of one projector that I saw at Sam's Club in-store for $85. It advertised a native resolution of 1080p and a brightness of 250 ANSI lumens. The package also included a bundle with a 120-inch projector screen, a 20W soundbar, and a 35-inch tripod stand. I wanted to come back and look for reviews, but I completely forgot.

how is it different? this one's like $50 MORE EXPENSIVE than any other 1080p native deal.

I got this one and it's very well reviewed: https://slickdeals.net/f/18946960

So this isn't with It from why I see in comments. Anyone have a better one or a infographic that explains how this compares to better ones??

I don't know about this one. It would be nice if it actually put out 1500 ansi lumen, but I have my doubts. The design and color reminds me of the 1950s design with the rounded corners and teal color. I've bought an ONN projector from woot before, and light output is very important! I later bought a nexigo pj40 which is fairly well know cheap projector, and I've been happy. That one can sometimes be found on sale for around $200. It actually puts out 800 ansi lumens. I tried looking this projector up, but I didn't find any thorough reviews, TMY T02.

Yeah there were some gems. I still have a 720 mini projector, its barely bigger than a raspberry pi, but in low light it will throw a decent 150" with only 250 lumens. When I got it like a decade ago it was a $400 business projector tho. But now you could snag them for nothing. people are too hung up on 4k and not the experience. A good 1080p picture will look better than these cheap 4k projectors.
