This compact Elecom GaN charger stands out for packing up to 65 watts from a single USB C port, with enough output to replace a MacBook Air adapter and still charge an iPhone at the same time. The small size is a plus, and the Japanese brand name and cTUVus and PSE marks add some confidence. The main drawbacks are the awkward form factor, which can make it fall out of outlets, and a report of failure right around the 30 day mark. Delivery is also running nearly three weeks out.

  • The charger can charge a MacBook Air while also charging an iPhone at the same time.

  • The charger is smaller than the original MacBook adapter while still serving as a replacement.

  • The charger carries cTÜVus and Japanese PSE diamond safety marks instead of a UL safety mark.

  • The 65W single-port capability is positioned as uncommon at this price point.

  • The plug design can feel unstable and may keep falling out of an outlet.

  • The adapter can fall off outlets due to its form factor and weight.

  • The charger may stop working around the 30-day mark despite initial satisfaction.

  • Delivery can take nearly three weeks, which can be inconvenient even when the deal is attractive.

saw this a few hours ago and got the 65w but also checked their store and saw the 100w was only $2 more. 120w was only available used so I passed.

Those of you who spent any time in Japan know that Elecom is a Trusted brand, along with Sanwa supply.

So I trust this way more than off name chinese brands.

There's also a 150w one albeit unavailable.

congrats to all who got orders in, knew stock wasn't gonna last long despite a few weeks delivery time.

Guys! Replace your outlet. It's like $2.50 for a new receptacle and if you want to go hog wild - get the ultra heavy duty at HD for $7.50. It's a once in a lifetime replacement.

This is not a receptacle issue Smilie just the form factor of any adapater of this shape/weight. It falls off the outlets.

Mine stopped working right at the 30 day mark. Unfortunate because I really liked it.
