I have this exact unit (paid $200) for my place and it's running perfect since I installed it in 2020. No leaks, and the water tastes so much better. Before this I had to fill up four 5 gallon containers at different places to use for my water cooler and store them. Now I only have 1, and fill it up when I need to. This saved me tons of money and most importantly time since I don't have to drive anywhere to fill up.

How often do the filters need to be changed and how expensive are the replacement filters?

got the same filter with the pump, just need to change the prefilter chlorine 6 to 9months since those will get slime. Every else dont bother changing for 3 years or longer. Just get TDA & ph meter.

these are the cheapest filters becuase it is standard components that bunch of other vendors selling the same item with different name brand. I usually by from Amamzon in bulk filter or Aliexpress.

Anyone know how to find the waste water to pure water ratio on these systems?

If I have granite counters around my kitchen sink does this mean I have to drill a hole in the granite to make this work with the faucet it comes with?

Check your sink sometimes there are extra holes in the sink that you can repurpose for the water filterFor example I removed my soap dispenser in my sink and replaced it with the water filter faucet

I wouldn't worry about it as long as they're stored at normal temperature and humidity. These are mainly charcoal and polymer-based and do not go "bad". However, the plastic cartridges are sealed with a glue that can degrade with time. But it would probably take more than 5 years or so if at all they cause an issue.

Was hoping to get one of these to run to my fridge instead of having it run to a spirit at the sink. Anyone do that before or should I just get one purpose built?
