I have the non-pro/older version and recently just bought this newer version. Pretty much the same backpack cooler with the exception of the front compartment. I like that the pro version has organizers to store certain items vs one big pouch. It's pretty comfortable to carry around but can get a little heavy once you load it full of beer/liquids.
As for keeping things cold, I've taken it to the beach, park, trips, etc with no issues. Things stay icy cold for more than 2/3 of the day, then "cool" for the rest. The 2 ice packs are a great deal (you can always use them in other coolers) and you can always get more Ice packs if you need. I have a slim (off-brand) ice pack that I put at the very bottom/floor.
Definitely worth the $32!

I have one of these and I really like it, good quality good pack with all the pockets and the separate ice compartments. And I was just in Costco yesterday and they have a ton of them in stock.

You are right, I have this and recently used in one trip, we have to keep straight in the car, if it is not then it will start leaking water...

But it's designed to use the ice packs in their own separate pockets. Why would you use ice? I would assume it would leak with regular ice. I've been using these for 7 ish years now, I'm on my second. I really like this new version as the front pocket has compartments to organize stuff instead of just a large pocket. I work construction and this thing is out in the sun all day. It will keep my food/drinks cold until lunch time no matter how hot the day gets, but if it's brutally hot and sunny and I can't find it and shade to hide in, it will only be cool come last break. But I can fix that with an extra ice pack

Yes you are right it is leaking when we add regular ice and it melts gradually during long trip though we have added ice packs comes with this... It does its job very well by keeping all the food / drinks super cool for longer duration but just need to ensure with ice added the position of this bag needs to keep upright so water will not started leaking
