The 77 inch Samsung S90F stands out as a very bright QD OLED TV with vivid colors, strong contrast, deep blacks, and excellent gaming performance, especially for HDR and 144 hertz VRR. It is also described as brighter than older Sony sets and competitive with higher end OLEDs, while the Samsung price can land well below LG alternatives through EPP or EDU pricing. The main tradeoffs are Samsung's Tizen interface and ads, no Dolby Vision, and recurring reports of power board or power supply concerns on related S90 models. A strong picture focused option if those Samsung quirks are not dealbreakers.
Common Questions (5)
The 77-inch S90F has been seen at $1,295 with EPP, while EDU pricing was reported around $1,700 to $1,799 total. In-cart pricing also appears as $1,367.99 plus tax for some shoppers.
There are reports of Samsung OLED power-board or power-supply problems being discussed around the S90 series, and one comment says the newer F version is supposed to have fixed the D model's issue. A separate owner reported a December unit that no longer powers on.
No, the Samsung S90F does not support Dolby Vision; it uses HDR10+ instead. That is a key tradeoff for shoppers comparing it with LG OLEDs that do include Dolby Vision.
A 10% text-signup code may take about $50 more off, and chat support has reportedly given out 2 years of Samsung Care+ or wall-mount service for free. The cart discount also appears as a special promotional discount rather than a promo code.
The 77-inch S90F is described as using the QD-OLED panel, not W-OLED. That matters because QD-OLED is associated with brighter output and stronger color pop than many standard OLED implementations.
