3.6 stars and a price tracker shows after one year they are crashing the price. either wait for a better risk/reward factor or pass on this. ( price drops ten bucks every few days )

Looks like Mochamaster copy which have been around for decades. If I needed one, out of curiosity, I'd probably try it for the price but my Mochamaster works great after many years. Worth the extra. Started using back in the 80's when I lived in Europe. Got tired of name brand coffee makers lasting a couple years. Went back to Mochamaster and have not looked back. All their parts are replaceable too. Wait for an Amazon sale. It happens a few times a year.

If Moccamaster was just extracting rents from their IP, it should be a reasonable affair for someone else to produce a clone that works as well at a lower price ... even if that lower price is only 10% off.

From where I'm sitting, nobody has produced a clone that works as well at a lower price.

Good deal and a nice machine, but the reviews seem to show a pattern of failed machines and poor service on repair/replacement. At $90 this is lower risk but it still sounds like a risk to me.

24% One-star reviews...yikes. Since a lot reviews are done soon after you get it, that negative # is likely much higher when you start having problems a few months after you get it. It looks great, but seems some common problems on parts quality. Hard pass for me!

SCA-certified is worth looking for; this means the water gets hot enough to make good coffee. I bought the highly reviewed and much smaller Zojirushi EC-DAC50. It makes excellent coffee. This one is overkill for me - I never make 8 cups at a time
