I have two Orbit multi-outlet hose timers. They work well & the batteries (even rechargeable) last at least a couple of years. I'd like a wifi version but not at $100+ for a single unit.

I got one of these to replace a rainbird unit (that one failed yearly). This one is still going on year two.

Picked up a couple for my drip systems. Use the link at the bottom of the description and not the "visit Amazon" button.

Thank you OP! Perfect for refilling a pool during the summer when the water evaporates.

Do these "hammer" when they open and close the valve?

In for 2! Would also prefer wifi, but just can't justify the cost.

i have this model. It hammers. You can try to close your garden valve half way to reduce, but I found no such luck. I switched to a ball valve timer and has been smooth since. The orbit timers have a diaphragm valve which causes hammer by instantly cutting off the pressure.

I had to install Hammer arrestor to over come this issue.

I had one that worked solid for 3 years. Died by not dipensing water. Bought a replacement and going strong. Is important, at least in my case, to make sure these work otherwise no water. It was not battery issue. This is worth it.

I have a 2-outlet and a 3-outlet version of this. They are good. Both work reliably, even on rechargeables (as somone else mentioned). I've had them for several years with occassional use, and they both still work fine.

I owned a few of this item. From my experience, if you would like your unit to last longer, shield them from the elements, especially sunlight. I constructed a shade cover so no rain or sunlight shine on them, making them last longer.
