Decent deal, but I'm tempted to hold out to see if I can find x2 5ah batteries. There were some some a few months back for ~$100 I should have jumped on.

Fasteners inc has the 2x5ah deal around $100-110 a few times a year it seems like. Often posted on here, good luck.

There's a similar sale for a 6 and 4 w/charger for $107 which feels like a better deal. (I've never had much luck with the 2ah dewalt batts)

I went down the rabbit hole of "is the compact 4 ah as good as the full size 4ah" and the general consensus seemed to be that yes, it is a different cell type and opinions were 50/50 as to whether that made it slightly better or slightly worse than the larger 4 amp battery. Similarly some people preferred the wider form factor for tools you set down on the battery as a base, while others didn't like it for belt-wearing tools. Toss up all around but seemed like a safe purchase. A couple people mentioned these could be old stock so check the manufacturer dates and register for the warranty.

The DCB1104 has the more desired two-stage LED state of charge indicator to display when it is fully charged and FLEXVOLT lets it charge 12 & 20V batteries, a nice buy if you need a charger too.

The 6AH and compact 4AH are my go to batteries. The 2AH are almost worthless other than for the small flashlights.

2 AH is nice if you're doing a lot of overhead drilling / driving

This. Also sanding ceilings or high areas, or using cutoff tools overhead—they all have their place, you just have to know your needs (which are always changing it seems lol). I even use a 1.3Ah for my cutoff tool on a regular basis for one-and-done light-duty stuff where power isn't a priority—what, am I supposed to use a battery that's 2x heavier on principle? 😂😂

Obviously people prefer larger batteries in general which is almost certainly why DeWalt puts the smaller batteries in bundles—to incentivize purchasing them.
