Avoiding single ticket pretty much pays this off.

I guess R3BLK is a Best Buy exclusive sku, but basically the same as R3 just a slightly different black logo and finish

Having directional arrows are really helpful, but at this price point, if you don't have a radar detector, i'd jump on it.

there are two R3 at best buy, 1: Model: R3 SKU: 6667603 $329
2: Model: R3BLK SKU: 6188301 $239
sku is different, anyone can clarify the difference?

One is more expensive than the other, obviously.

Per Claude...
They're the same detector — the R3 and R3BLK are functionally identical units.
Someone actually bought both and compared them side by side, and found that everything is identical — including the FCC ID and labels. Radar Detector & Countermeasure Forum
The key differences are just cosmetic/retail:
  • R3BLK = Matte black finish, appears to be a Best Buy exclusive SKU
  • R3 (standard) = the regular version sold elsewhere
The price gap you're seeing ($329 vs $239) is likely just fluctuation over time or one being on sale/clearance. The R3BLK is the same DSP platform, just in black — essentially the same thing. Radar Detector & Countermeasure Forum
Bottom line: Go with whichever is cheaper. The R3BLK at $239 is the better deal if both are currently in stock.

If you limit your speed to 5 over, you can save yourself the cost of this detector and cost of ticket. Maybe I'm just lucky but my last ticket was 26 years ago and I drive 35,000 miles per year.

Does Waze alert you even if you're not using navigation? That's a feature I'm missing in Google Maps
