Sorry dumb question: what's the difference between instant oatmeal and quick oatmeal? Is this the kind where you can just pour hot water to make or do you need to cook in a pot?
If you have Sam's, they have Quaker 10lb box for a bit less money than this 5lb box- so half the price per oz
My local's Sam's Club is 10LB for 7.99, which I also maybe two years ago fell for this crap amazon price. Only after it arrived realizing it is only half the quantity/weight as Sam's. Sam's also apparently figured this was the cheapest way to sell it/utilize the sqft. Versus briefly having a store brand Member's Mark traditional rolled for 7.99 before bringing Quaker to this and having this price for maybe over a year now. And it also has a long shelf life, officially best before November this year for some boxes I probably bought in June or July last year but went through more slowly than I initially expected. PS Sam's a block from me in San Antonio also was the one that had 2.299 for regular unleaded up until the end of February when everything went loco

The Costco offer is for regular rolled oats, not the quick oats variety. There's no nutritional difference, but the quick oats are chopped up so that they can absorb liquid more efficiently. With quick oats, I can fully prepare a bowl with only one round in the microwave. With regular oats, I have to interrupt to stir and add more liquid at least once. With "protein" oats, I need to clear my morning schedule and do a wrist stretching routine.
