This is Mercer's budget line, but it is still a BIG step up from Kuhn Rikon. Better steel, better handle material. I have several Kuhn Rikon knives in various colors, and I use them for picnics and other places where they could become "lost" or "borrowed". Kuhn Rikon is definitely not a BIFL product. Kuhn Rikon=Cheap and Cheerful.

I'm personally not a fan of the Millennia line and MUCH prefer their more expensive offerings, which are crazy cheap at the restaurant supply houses. The regular Mercer lineup is probably the standard at most cooking schools. Having both, I think the quality of their forged lines is fully the equal of Wusthof and superior to Henkels. My mother and grandmother used paring knives because they worked food in their hands, and not on a cutting board. I have a few very nice paring knives in the drawer that remain in their original packaging - I much prefer a 5-6" petty/utility knife and a cutting board

These are great, sharp budget paring knives. I've used one the last 5 years and periodically sharpen it and its my go to paring knife on a budget.

If you have Amazon business account, multiple colors (red, brown, purple, yellow, blue, white) are at $5.89.

I use both Tramontina https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tramon.../293742363 and Mercer paring knives. I like them both.

They also have the black one with the standard handle on sale for $6.71. Mercer makes some really great knives, especially at the price.

Snagged one. I like Mercer knives, I've got a number across their various lines. Good quality at non-stupid prices.
