Used this in probably almost 1000 transmissions now without issue. Good fluid at a good price.

I remember I was scared to use this for my Dodge as it wanted the overpriced ZF fluid. Anyways 40K miles later zero issues. I plan to use this on my 3rd gen Tacoma next. However since going from OEM fluid, I will drop the pan and change the filter, to get as much OEM out. Remember it clearly states on the back of the jug what it's compatible with 💡 you'll be fine!

Use only manufacturer fluid in transmissions. Aftermarket fluid has a good chance of destroying your transmission. "One size doesn't fit all".

OMG no it does not. Just stop posting your wives' tales.

Is there a compatibility car list for this fluid? I have a 2014 Honda crv and a 2021 rav4 hybrid that I could stock up on(?)
Maxlife ATF is compatible with Honda's DW-1 and Toyota's WS ATF! Drain the hot oil and refill. Follow the mfr's guide to verify proper fill level.

The $2/qt Idemitsu ATF Type H at Advance Auto is also compatible with Honda's DW-1. $2 Idemitsu Type TLS-LV is equivalent for your Toyota.

If the transmission has more than 90K miles, and this is the first oil change, then drain and add exactly one quart. Drive 500 miles to acclimate the transmission to the new ATF mixture. Repeat two more times if no transmission slippage. Final step is to perform a full drain (about 0.7 gallon). Drain and refill every 30K miles for optimum performance.

I can see shift degradation using Denso's Techstream around the 22K mark with my Corolla. Therefore, I use 24K ATF OCI.

Idemitsu make the OEM ATF fluid for Honda.

If your local Advanced Auto has any of this Type H-Plus left, I'd stock up at $2 a quart. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com...m=Idemitsu

My Honda dealership charges $10 a quart for DW-1 .

Get Idemitsu for $7.80/gal at Advanced Auto. Avoid brand loyalty when it comes to lubricant.

Good price, however I think $25 is the average shelf price at Walmart, and as someone else said Amazon will occasionally do 3 jugs for $50 sales.

Thanks for the information, I was able to get several quarts nearby!
I have also used the MaxLife ATF in Hondas for years with no issues.

This is the second Honda-centric score for me from Advance Auto. Last year I got several gallons on of Pentosin Pentofrost A3 coolant for $2.35 each!

I did a 4x drain and fill on my 2015 MDX a few thousand miles ago and it runs great. Fixed my shuddering issue. This fluid is recommended by many on Honda/Acura forums.

Honda uses different transmission throughout their vehicles. I have the 9 Speed in my Pilot, it's manufactured by ZF and not Honda.
so this might be fine for few, you can not generalize it.

that's why there are many aftermarket fluids on the market Smilie.
and even transmission manufacturers does not produce their own fluid and refine the oil lol but buy from specialized companies.
