It doesn't matter anymore. We have no privacy or security. I've been super anal about security, including shredding everything with personal information on it for decades, yet every year it seems I get a letter telling me there's been a breach of information somewhere, and all they do is offer you a year of credit monitoring. My name and social are on the dark web. The only option was to freeze my credit. The least of my concerns is if some entity knows that I'm eating Arby's.

I'm just so anti "app" for fast food. I know I'm missing deals but I'm just not willing to allow them all of the permissions to harvest data.

as if you can avoid ads; they'll get you one way or another. so what if they know I like roastbeefs and curly fries? I dare them to send me an ad for $1 off.

i turn off background services for most of my apps and only allow location service while using the app. sure, they can find out I both live and work 3 minutes away from an Arby's, but that data is already aggregated somewhere anyway.
