I've got my Neo and while it tackles everything, if you're looking to run some Mid-Windows games via Crossover, the rosetta translation layer is gonna absorb about 5-6GB of memory all on its own, while your Metal ram usage is 2-3GB. It tickles and occasionally spikes into swap pretty hard, so I'm definitely looking to dive onto a 16GB version.... Hoping I can survive until next year when a 12GB version Neo is launched. THAT would handle it proper.

That's helpful. I had been debating an air vs neo. Now I'm thinking 24gb might be the minimum.

I think that's the hidden cost of the Neo. Once you outgrow it, you're already looking for the next new one in about a year. After that, you'll have spent the price of two Neos, when you could have just bought something like an Air.

I would be ticked if the resale value sucked on the Neo. As it currently stands, with new Neos being a month out, I could see it selling for exactly what I paid. XD

I don't understand how its come to be that Apple is giving folks a laptop 2-3X as good a windows laptop for cheaper. My kid has a windows laptop, end of semester windows 11 said one to many incorrect passwords entered and locked his laptop. There was no way of getting it opened with a another email or phone number. Even tried a side deal but found the drive was bit encrypted, not even sure why they by default encrypted a home laptop, this isn't NSA. Over a month later it allowed the password to be changed, but by then the semester was over and caused insane pain and harm. MS doesn't even have a phone number to help and no time lines are laid out for when you can try again. After that installed Debian on basically everything, i'll never trust MS ever again. I'll consider a Macbook Air maybe next time i buy a machine, but frankly i think Gnome with extensions looks better than any other OS, and i like i can do whatever i want.
