The Worx JawSaw is a specialized cordless saw that shines for cutting branches and brush already on the ground, especially when you want to stand upright and let the jaws hold the wood in place. It is praised for small pruning jobs, fallen limbs, bamboo, and cleanup work, and the extension can help in some setups. The main tradeoffs are weight at the saw end, awkward handling with the extension, and limited battery life with smaller packs. It is not a full replacement for a serious chainsaw, but it fits a very specific cleanup role well.
Common Questions (5)
Yes. It is especially useful for chopping up fallen branches, brush piles, and small trees on the ground because you can push the branch down and squeeze without worrying about the chain hitting dirt or cement. It is not a full replacement for a serious chainsaw for all-purpose cutting.
Usually no. The extension makes the saw much heavier and more awkward to position, and one long-term owner found it broke and was not very useful before it failed. It can help for some reach, but the added end weight is the main drawback.
Yes. It is described as great for use on the ground but too bulky and heavy for overhead work. Its main advantage is one-handed cutting of branches on the ground while standing up.
It can come off the track, especially on soft vines or if pushed too hard. Keeping bar oil on it and staying within its limits helps it keep cutting well after reattaching the chain.
It works fine on battery for small jobs, but a 4.0Ah battery is the better choice for lots of pruning or cleanup. A 2.0Ah battery is enough for a few smaller branches, but it does not last long on bigger pruning sessions.

The problem is the weight distribution. It is overly heavy at the saw end. I have a Milwaukee M12 Hatchet chainsaw that is easy to hold in one hand while using my other hand to steady the branch.
I had the extension for this Worx saw also. It made the problem even worse.
The best thing I did with this saw was to sell it to someone after explaining why I did not like it.
I do NOT recommend this saw.
Thought it was a joke, didn't buy it myself, but have been very impressed. EXTREMELY useful for my exact use case, not a legit replacement for a more serious chainsaw that you can use for almost anything.
I'll stick to my $20 chinese 6" pruning chainsaw w/ 2 batteries.
On the extension... I'm not sure why people say to get it. I have it and have used it a few times, but the saw is really awkward to use with it. Having the saw installed in it puts so much weight on the end of the extension I find it hard to position and I'm a pretty large person. You don't have this issue with a normal pole saw.
