About this item:
- ORICOs first 2.5-inch (7–9.5 mm) all-flash storage enclosure is equipped with a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, delivering data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps when connected to a PSSD and achieving speeds of 5 Gbps when linked via a SATA interface. This high-performance solution enables rapid read/write operations for video content and efficient handling of large project files, significantly enhancing productivity in video editing workflows.
- The 2.5-inch enclosure supports seven RAID modes, including RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 10, JBOD, and CLEAR, allowing flexible configuration based on workflow needs. Video editors can enjoy smoother editing while better protecting their valuable footage and project files
- Four expansion ports help compensate for the limited interfaces on laptops. Two USB 3.2 10Gbps ports enable ultra-fast file transfers, while the SD & TF 3.0 card slots allow easy access to data from various memory cards. The ORICO all-flash storage enclosure is ideal for on-site photography backup, enhancing workflow efficiency
- The enclosure supports both 2.5-inch SSDs and HDDs, with a single drive capacity of up to 8TB and a total capacity of 32TB across four bays. It also supports daisy-chaining via USB 3.2, enabling the connection of three devices for up to 120TB of expanded storage—easily meeting the massive demands of video production
- Compared to traditional 3.5-inch HDD enclosures, the 2.5-inch all-flash model reduces volume by over 50%. Its all-solid-state design lacks mechanical components, offering excellent shock resistance. No extra protective measures are needed when carrying it outdoors—it fits effortlessly into backpacks or camera bags
- 2-year warranty

This ORICO dock is a 4 bay USB C DAS with hardware RAID, aimed at compact multi drive storage for 2.5 inch SSDs. The 10 Gbps connection is enough for SATA SSDs, and the array could still benefit from multiple drives or separate USB buses for better throughput. The main limitation is the 2.5 inch only design, which rules out 3.5 inch hard drives and makes the value depend on already having suitable SSDs. It fits best as a tidy enclosure for spare 2.5 inch drives.
The 10Gbps USB connection can be sufficient for 2.5-inch SATA SSD speeds around 500-600MB/s per drive.
The dock can provide hardware RAID functionality for a multi-drive setup.
Theoretical array throughput can scale with multiple 2.5-inch drives using the SATA limits per drive.
The dock can offer a convenient multi-drive enclosure option with less physical clutter than separate external drives.
The docking station is limited to 2.5-inch drives, which can reduce value for users needing 3.5-inch HDD support.
The 2.5-inch-only design can make the $103.59 price less compelling when 3.5-inch drives are the intended storage target.
The enclosure can be a poor fit versus buying a larger-capacity 2TB external USB drive, especially when 2.5-inch SSD capacities above 512GB are uncommon.
Data integrity concerns can arise when shucking existing 2.5-inch external drives into the enclosure without clear compatibility guidance.

Though there is something to be said, depending on your machine whether you have more than 1 USB bus; if so you could theoretically see better throughput in certain configurations (i.e. 2 drives per usb bus) vs 4 drives on one bus.
But if your using HDD's I think this is a good decent balance of convenience and size without a lot of clutter. There are some interesting software raid solutions that could also make this pretty good.
