For those "occasional travelers" who do not have premium travel credit cards, a Priority Pass membership gives you access to 1800 airport lounges worldwide, regardless of the airline or class of service. Airport lounges have wifi-access, airport takeout, lounges for rest or refresh (shower & spa facility at most locations), etc.. Yes, enjoy your lounge access and then walk to your basic economy seat 58D on the plane
New members get 20% off the annual fee for the first year. Standard membership is normally $99 but with this link, pay only $79.99. You may use your access immediately after joining.

I carry several premium travel credit cards so my membership is free. I can tell you that I do not ever mind having a connecting flight. I will also choose my connecting city based on the lounge access. I love it. I have a wedding coming up for a young couple who will be going on their honeymoon...this is what I will be gifting them each at $80 per person.

But also, for anyone signing up, you still need to pay to renter, this membership just reduces the per visit fee.

2. in my original post, i said "those with no premium travel credit card and who are occasional travelers"
3. occasional travelers are not gonna drop $895 a year for amex plat or even $595 for c1vx
sigh.
There were many restaurants, etc that you could enter with it and pay though - I'm not sure who's paying whom to list those there.
i find that the pp lounges in asia are far more superior than the ones in the US.

The "one year pass" does not include any lounge visits. It only allows the holder to purchase lounge visits.
So, if you gift this to someone you're spending $80 and they're spending $105 to visit the lounge 3 times in a year. That's a total of $185 for three visits (assuming they can actually get in to the lounge as most of the PP lounges at major airports are oversold).
The one good PP benefit was the meal benefit at airport restaurants, but when you're paying $35/pp the meal benefit is no longer a benefit.
The $329 annual membership includes 10 "free" visits, which is basically $33/visit for the first 10, then $35/visit after that.
At those prices an occasional traveler is better off getting a basic travel credit card that includes a certain number of free visits per year. You'll pay a lot less that way than by paying PP for a membership.
