This one's partially serrated (which nobody ever wants anyway).
But I agree, this is not a good deal for this garbage steel blade.

There are countless number of pocket knives and if we're being honest, the vast majority of them are pretty great. People love to rank things however so they put a lot of emphasis on the type of steel. The type of steel makes a difference, but not nearly as big difference as people make it out to be. I mean, if you know how to sharpen a knife it's not that hard to do. Honestly, I'd rather carry it around a serviceable $20 knife for then a $300 Benchmade that I'd have to worry about.

Despite my lack of knowledge of steel/ blade types, I've used this knife for probably around two years now as my EDC and it's been great. Mostly cutting string, tape and sometimes low voltage cable.

With my ability to leave my knife laying around, if I had a $300 benchmade it wouldn't leave my safe. lol

It's also not always an extreme comparison like with a Benchmade, when you can get a knife with 7cr or 8cr at the same price, which is the case here it's just a matter of what you're getting for the money and completely relevant from a deal standpoint. From a forum discussion standpoint is another story but it's just what you can get for around $20.

There's some in between where there may be a relatively small collection over time, but that's probably going to be budget. Even though it makes sense to theoretically get one really good knife instead of the rest people like variety but at the same time are not going to spend that much, it'll make sense to get stuff like the SRM $7 ones in the 3 pack.

Just being lazy & copy/pasting part of my post on the last 4CR14 Kershaw (yesterday.)

There are many options for EDC folders that use decent, budget friendly steels like 8cr13Mov, 8cr14, AUS-8, or even D2 in this price range. I would just start there. Normally the only advantages to dropping carbon content below .07% (4cr13=.04%) are moderately easier sharpening (softer steel) and slightly better corrosion resistance.
