Can anyone recommend an Osprey hydration pack similar to a Camelbak Blowfish? Osprey's warranty is far superior to CamelBak.

Not too pumped about Osprey backpacks being "premium" after it's very mediocre showing on YouTube's Project Farm review.

This does not seem to have the metal frame. What's the benefit of metal frame, if someone can please help?

I do long distance backpacking. Metal frames or stays help with structure, load balance, and with heavier loads. Depending on how much gear you carry determines if they are necessary. Now a days most packs don't need them.

The metal ones provide a bit more space between the pack and your back which allows for a good bit of airflow. They call that the "airspeed". This one has the Airscape which allows a little airflow but is a bit more flush. I think the metal ones might add a little more support and help with posture too but they also make it hard to wear a sun hat. I have both and reach for the one like this when traveling and the other type when hiking.

The $60 bottom end Osprey didn't out perform the $300 flagship one? Shocking...

Osprey has always done right by me.
Quality is probably not the best, but their warranty is sound and the process is smooth.

Osprey's lineup is definitely more oriented towards value vs premium. Most of their bags aren't super bulletproof like really high-end stuff, but for the price you're getting well-thought-out designs with nice features, light weight, and a solid company track record of good warranty support.

- The Osprey backpack on ProjectFarm isn't the same one here
- Osprey backpacks that have the name "lite" are not meant to carry and protect laptops and dropped from a height like on Project Farm
- It's weird that Project farm pitted $20 lightweight bookbags against travel backpacks like the $350 Nomatic on tests that are mostly based on how much cushioning they have
