First, I've been sitting with this in my cart for a little bit and, according to my research, $113 and above is the going price for this model.
Second, this all depends on your risk level and type of car you are using this on. Do your research - there are plenty of horror stories due to cheap tenders. CTEK is considered the top of the line and, for the car I'm using it on, I'm not going to risk going with a no-name brand.

But, to each his own.
This has been $103.20 or less since March 25.
I can vouch for the HF one, as can the vast majority of the 5000+ other reviewers. It can also work with 6V batteries.

But yes, each to his own.
I have this Harbor Freight VIKING 4 Amp and it's garbage. If your battery is low - below the minimum voltage for this box - it does nothing. I replaced it with a Noco Genius 1 that costs less and works far better. From the VIKING manual.
If the battery voltage is lower than 10.5 V (12 V battery) or 5.2 V (6 V battery), the voltage will flash on the display and the backlight will turn red, indicating that the charger will automatically attempt to repair the battery for 1 hour. After repair, if the voltage is greater than or equal to 10.5 V / 5.2 V, the charger will automatically continue to its normal charging function. If the battery voltage is still less than 10.5 V / 5.2 V, the repair failed–the Bad Battery Symbol will show on the display and the charger will stop charging.

Second, why would anyone pay $100 for a 4A battery maintainer? I don't get it.
