This arc lighter is best for lighting candles, wicks, and gas appliances, especially when a built in igniter has failed. It can also handle small fires by lighting paper first, and the rechargeable battery is reported to last about 600 uses per charge. The main drawback is positioning, since the wick or flame has to sit between the prongs and that can be awkward. A flexible neck design sounds easier to aim, making this a handy backup for simple ignition jobs.
Common Questions (5)
It works well for candles, wicks, fireworks, gas cooktops, fireplaces, and gas ranges with a bad built-in igniter. It can also light a piece of paper to start a small fire, but it is less useful for many other tasks.
It can light a gas grill, but positioning is the main challenge and it may take longer than expected. The wick has to sit correctly between the prongs, which can make it awkward for some uses.
A flexible-neck or gooseneck version is easier to aim and maneuver, especially around wicks and burners. The standard straight style can be harder to position precisely.
It is reported to deliver about 600 uses per full charge. That makes it practical for repeated candle or stove lighting without frequent recharging.
Yes. The black version is listed at $5.99, while the gold version remains $3.49.
