Couldn't you just record with your phone and then feed that into AI?

I don't have this one, but it is a dedicated recorder with its own built‑in AI analysis, making it simpler and faster to output than using my phone with, for example, Gemini; its transcription is far better than even my Pixel Pro 10. In high‑stakes environments I've found I simply can't rely on my Pixel. It has its own battery, so it continues recording even if your phone is dead. It can also record phone calls, offering a host of benefits if your use case demands it. Plaud and TicNote appear to be the main leaders; I'm not familiar with this specific product, but they all seem to be similar clone‑style devices.

Oh I gotcha. This is definitely a luxury to have. I was thinking you could also use a standalone voice recorder to which can last much longer nowadays for recording time with battery life and storage. Then transfer for AI processing that you can now run on your pc or phone offline for better privacy if needed.

Can you remotely access recordings with these? Since it has wifi capabilities. Then I could see the edge haha

Yes, you can definitely use a standalone voice recorder or your phone to record, for that matter. I'm sure the battery on a standalone voice recorder would last way way longer than this device. It's just that this device is programmed to automatically analyze whatever it's recording and break it down into a summary or more. It's the same concept of what you're implying: running it through AI separately or yourself. This just does it automatically, and with today's technology I'm sure you can set up your phone or computer, for that matter, to do the same thing that this product does. This product just simplifies the whole process.

For people who don't know what they are doing or for people who don't have the time to program their own code, this product is a godsend. I can take it into the hospital with me, record a doctor who's trying to gaslight a family member, and then the AI software will automatically analyze and summarize. I can even then ask questions to the AI without having to worry about sending it to another AI for analysis; it's just automatic in everything that it does.

So it's a simplified version of what you're bringing up. For a majority of the world or users, I guess your setup would work, because I also thought about it at first, but then I came across these products and decided that it was worth the $150 I paid for mine to not have to worry about sending it through any other AI system.

And so they do have Wi-Fi for transferring the files from the device to the phone. After it records, the one that I have will use Bluetooth at first, but if the file is too large, it'll ask to switch to Wi-Fi for fast transfer. After it transfers, the Wi-Fi just shuts off. Once it transfers to the phone, it's in the app now, so you can open it on another device or computer, as that file is now in the cloud. Basically, until you actually transfer it from the device to the software that's provided by the manufacturer, I don't know if there's any other way to get the file off of the device. I think it's stuck on the device proprietarily until you use their app to transfer it.

I don't think Wi-Fi works in the way where you can just connect the device to Wi-Fi and try to download your file; however, which way you choose, I don't think it works like that. I don't know this product; I just kind of did deep research into most of these products in general to see how they work.

So, unless you need to record a meeting at work to catch someone in a lie or a gaslighting doctor, most people generally would not need this as they could just use their own phone to record and use their own AI to analyze I guess, but in my use case it was the best product I could find to get to the root core of problems within these industries, and everything done automatically.

That makes sense. Thanks for the write-up. repped
