I have one of these and it's a great starter drone. I got mine from someone who has a ton of drone piloting experience over several drones and he said this is probably the high end best bang for the buck for a noob. I'm an amateur myself and found it pretty easy to get it in the air. The hardest part is the prep with creating a DJI account and the setup process. Just note it doesn't have collision avoidance so it will let you fly it into a tree or whatever. The next step up "Pro" model does but it costs way more than this.

Recommend getting a case and additional battery or two. Don't recommend the blade guards. Got them to fly indoors but feel it's too big to safely play around inside the house.

Every DJI drone that has been release up until early this year is fine. It's new DJI drones being sold going forward that are at risk of not receiving FCC approval.

Ok so stupid question, in the Amazon listing it shows a controller w/o a screen yet in all the reviews I see controllers with a screen. Why the discrepancy, what actually comes w/it?

I think from my understanding is that anything prior to April of 2026 models are ok. Anything after that cannot be sold in the US.

Yeah the base (cheaper) models of their drones come with the controller that you have to connect to your smartphone to use. The bundles that include the "RC" model (or "RC2" for the newer drones) essentially has an android phone [screen] built-in that runs the DJI app solely. I just bought the Mini 3 "Fly More" bundle that has the RC controller w/ screen, 2x extra batteries, a multi-charger and carrying case for $499. I've had it a few days now and absolutely love not having to screw with my phone everything I wanna fly.

I tried to buy one from Amazon and it was a complete hassle. They lied about trying to deliver it then said I had to give the delivery person a one time secret code. I have cameras on my home and no delivery was ever tried and when they started with the code bs I canceled the order. I can't stay at home with a secret code for a pissy $330 order.

Sounds like you have a crap driver. Mine called me and asked If I wanted to give the code and have him leave it for me. He's at our house frequently. You aren't supposed to give them the code over the phone but I have cameras also on that porch so if he were to take it after receiving the code it would be very obvious
