I have the wired version for more than 2 yrs now. No issues, and best of all no monthly fees. It can do 24/7 recording to an SD card.

I recently replaced a Ring doorbell with a Tapo TD25 AKA TD235 (basically an upgraded TD225). I thought the 180º view would be problematic, but I love it. And I really like the 5MP recording and 20fps. I will say it is HUGE compared to the Ring it replaced. Absolutely massive. But I'm just tired of my Ring cameras disconnecting or randomly upgrading the firmware in the middle of the day. I'm also tired of paying Ring for cloud storage.

I might pick up a couple of these for my other rentals. Looks like they will conect with Ecobee's built in Alexa so I can use that as the chime.

Does this require a hub? I'm not thrilled with my blink doorbells and have some tapo cams already so this seems like a no brainer

I previously owned the wired-only version of this doorbell, the D130. For the price, the video quality was quite good, it supported RTSP, and it was more compact than many competing video doorbells.
Unfortunately, it failed just over a year into use, right after the warranty expired. Up until then, it had worked very well, but it eventually shorted out, stopped powering on entirely, and even took the transformer down with it. I contacted Tapo since it had only just fallen outside the warranty period, but they were unwilling to offer any assistance.

I have this camera. I like it alot. SD local saved recordings. Can answer the door while at work via wi-fi. Charge holds a long time. Easy to charge, waterproof.

I own the TD25 . I installed a January 1st and the battery lasted until April 10th (5%).. no hiccups during the extreme cold (-33 with the Wind chill ). I'm sure during the summer the battery is not going to last this long . more traffic, kids playing outside,,,,.

It's an absolute unit. The thing weighs add much as a brick. The batteries must be massive

Could someone post a link to the wired one without a chime please? The wired one on the same page is more expensive and looks different.

Does it ring your existing doorbell chime or did you have to buy the Tapo chime?

Wired version comes with a chime. It also works with Alexa. I don't use my existing doorbell anymore but had to wire it so Tapo gets continuous power.

This old thread popped up in my emails from SD.
Best Buy currently has the same price, and some of y'all might have a $5/$10 reward out of the blue. Doesn't hurt to check. Wink
